Heroin dealer arrested on felony warrants near Lakeview

Michael HeltonA heroin dealer was arrested on felony drug warrants at a Lakeview residence Friday night around 8:30.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Michael Helton, 33, of 10508 Township Road 84, was wanted on warrants for possession of heroin and trafficking in heroin.

He was also wanted on a probation violation from Marysville Municipal Court.

Deputies received information that Helton and the homeowner, Seth Hoffman, 31, were dealing heroin for some time.

Helton was living with Hoffman.

They were both home when deputies arrived.

Asia Hoffman, 30, and two elementary-age girls were also inside the home.

The children were only wearing underwear.

Seth HoffmanHelton told deputies that heroin was in a blue pill bottle inside the bathroom.

He said the heroin belonged to him.

The bottle contained 26 units of suspected black tar heroin.

Helton admitted to using heroin earlier in the day.

He said he sells heroin to help pay for his daily habit.

The Hoffmans said they are trying to quit using heroin.

Helton was arrested on the two outstanding felony warrants.

He was also charged with one count of possession of heroin.

Seth Hoffman was charged with a misdemeanor count of permitting drug abuse.

They were lodged in the Logan County Jail.

The case has been sent to the Logan County Prosecutor's Office and Logan County Children's Services for review.
